City of Malden
Malden Community Center
The Malden Community Center is home to the city's offices and is the location for weekly events such as walking, senior dances, driver's license exams and more. Many concerts and special events are held there throughout the year. The auditorium and meeting rooms are available for rent for events, family reunions, receptions and parties.

Utilities
The city-owned Board of Public Works supplies electric, water and sewer services. The Board of Public Works provides electric service at one of the lowest rate structures in southern Missouri. In addition, the city owns an electrical power generating facility for emergencies and during peak power usage periods. A "power line loop system" feeds the entire city with electricity from two completely separate service lines. In the event of an emergency that caused one service line system to go down the second system would automatically go on line to pick up the load.
The city owns and operates two wastewater treatment facilities. Also operated by the city is its water supply, distribution, and storage systems. There are six water supply wells capable of producing over four million gallons of potable water per day. Natural gas is supplied by Atmos Energy and telephone service is supplied by Southwestern Bell Telephone.

Emergency Services
The City has two fire houses and an ambulance station offering 24-7 emergency services and state-of-the-art equipment. The police department is manned with full-time officers and an active reserve force. The chief and his staff operate with the latest in dispatch, police and emergency equipment.

Other Services
Malden has many services available to its residents including a Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), the Dunklin County Transit Service, the Center for Family Resources, a branch office of the Dunklin County Juvenile Service, American Legion Post #293 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post. Several organizations such as the Lion's Club and Kinunka Club sponsor various events and projects throughout the year. Churches of all denominations can be found in Malden with congregations to warmly welcome you. Health care is served by the Malden Medical Clinic as well as several private doctor and dentist offices.
Malden is a well-rounded community. Our city parks are inviting and offer play equipment and picnic areas. We are centrally located with easy access to major highways and interstates. The chamber welcomes your interest in our community and can provide additional information. Contact us online or call us at 573-276-4519.

Malden Airport and Industrial Park
Malden Airport & Industrial Park
Malden has one of the largest general aviation airports in the state of Missouri with three 5,000 foot runways; two of which are lighted for night landing. Formerly an Air Force Base, it now serves as an airport, industrial park and recreation park. A full-service Fixed Base Operator is available for fueling and maintenance. Commuter airlines are available within a one-hour drive to Jonesboro, AR or Cape Girardeau, MO. Major airlines are within a two-hour drive to Memphis, TN or within a three-hour drive to St. Louis, MO.
Visitors enjoy their stay at the Malden Airport Inn, located on Highway 25 South near the entrance to the Malden Industrial Park. This comfortable, clean motel also offers meeting rooms and facilities. The Malden Airport Inn is owned and managed by a group of local citizens who saw a need for a motel and formed a committee to construct a quality facility. Contact the Malden Airport Inn for information or reservations at 573-276-5144 or toll-free at 800-726-5680, or by fax at 573-276-3013.

Attractions/Recreation
If golf is your sport, Malden has two 9-hole golf courses located on the Malden Industrial Park. The city-owned Municipal Golf Course (573-276-3879) is open to the public with nominal green fees and has equipment rental available. It is located near tennis courts, ball parks and picnic areas. The privately-owned Malden Country Club (573-276-9991) offers golf, swimming, tennis, and a restaurant and lounge. The two courses connect so arrangements can be made to play both courses for an 18-hole round of golf. Several golf tournaments are held at each location yearly.
Bootheel Youth Museum
The Bootheel Youth Museum opened in March 1996 and is the only facility of its kind between Memphis, Tennessee and St. Louis, Missouri. This 10,000 square foot, hands-on museum became a reality through the support of community and business leaders.
The BYM creates unique, educational programs and exhibits for children, adults and families. Children enjoy interacting with exhibits that stimulate curiosity, provide social interaction, motivate learning, and create feelings of success. The primary focus of the museum is to provide the children with extended learning opportunities in the fields of math, science and technology, human relations, and the arts.

The Malden Historical Museum was founded in 1955 and does not charge for admission. Malden was founded in 1878 and has a rich history connected with the railroad, the lumber business and agriculture. The facility is open to the public Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1:30 until 4:30 p.m. and tours can be arranged at other times by appointment. The museum is staffed by volunteers.
The Entrance room depicts a turn of the century parlor, complete with furnishings, flax wheel, and mannequins dressed in the style of the period. Other displays include military items dating from the Civil War to the present time, antique dolls, clothing, kitchen utensils, carpenter tools, surgical instruments, a model dredge boat, Indian bowls and arrowheads, and the Dennis Collection of Egyptian Antiquities including scarabs, alabaster jars, necklaces and statuettes, dating back to 2,000 B.C.

Visit the MAAPS Military Museum located inside the Malden Airport Office building to view military uniforms, memorabilia and displays from Malden Army Airfield, Malden Air Base and Anderson Air Activities as well as uniforms and items of interest from other branches of military service. The museum officially opened on September 7, 2002, when it welcomed the Anderson Air Activities Reunion.
In addition to the museum, the Malden Army Airfield Preservation Society has built a Military Honor Wall to honor all honorably-discharged or currently active duty military veterans, past and present. Learn more about this ongoing project, visit the museum and learn about the former air base online or visit the Military Museum at 167 Mitchell Drive.
